Latest glimpses

WINDOWS & LIGHT
Taken in Darton (Yorkshire) beside a house I visit.

Fabulous window at the Red Lion Inn, Chesterfield.

Daylight and conkers, lovely

These two windows were taken whilst I was sat eating dinner, a meal out for my mum's 60th yesterday. Lovely meal, smashing company, good food/service... magical time with mother, Aunt Miranda, cousin Rachel.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park - 26 August 2008

WINDOWS
Wyfe2 Luisa looking through a derelict building window

The following shot is my favourite since the chap in the coffee shop window at Newcastle.
I believe it should be viewed full size, to really capture it's feeling.
A couple of walkers rest awhile under a magnificent arched window

Both pictures were also taken (as per previous post) at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park 26 August 2008

DOORS
Overgrown door, to a secret garden perhaps?

Gate to Henry Moore's sculptures, thunderclouds overhead

Magical door in a tree (abandoned treehouse), for fairies perchance?

Almost my favourite shot of the trip, this derelict building doorway frames an equally derelict old fashioned English red telephone box.

St Pancreas 07/08/08 & Yorkshire Sculpture Park 26/08/08

ARCHES
St Pancreas / Kings Cross (new station)

Wooden pergola over walkway, beautiful

Sculpture hidden in the park

Derelict building amid the woods of the park

Bridge to nowhere, as beautiful as it is. Quite literally a dead end!

WINDOWS & DOORS (in her own words)

Irish cottage window.
Who once slept in this rickety old bed?
Did they die in it, I wonder?

Tiny barn window.
Were they defending their farm with bows and arrows?
Too small a window to let in much light.

Church Door, Ickworth, Suffolk.

Archway, Grotto at Stainshill Park

In Australia, this rock 'door' is the shape of Australia!!
